Sunwon Lee redefines pictorial practice through her own papermaking process and plant-based pigments, translating the materiality and temporality of nature into a distinct visual language. By moving away from the physical resistance and fixed formats of traditional canvas, her handmade paper and natural colorants respond closely to the rhythms of her body and gesture. The grain of the paper, the pace of drying, and the subtle permeation of pigment form an organic field in which the coexistence of human and nature becomes perceptible.
